The VOSON Lab hosted the research workshop "Social and Behavioural Dynamics of attention", aimed at bringing together academics, ECRs and PhD candidates from diverse disciplines to present their research utilising Computational Social Science methods and online data.
PD Dr Florian Muhle (Faculty of Sociology, Bielefeld University, Germany) visited the VOSON Lab as part of the ANU Global Research Partnership Scheme to establish the "ANU Social Dynamics of Attention Centre".
Data Sprints are inspired by hackathons organised by the open source community, and are workshops in which participants from diverse backgrounds meet physically and collaborate intensively on a pre-determined subject and dataset.
VOSON Lab affiliates have participated in the Fourth Australian Social Network Analysis Conference #ASNAC2019. The conference intends to build greater coordination and collaboration among social network researchers and practitioners in Australia and overseas, and raise the profile of Australian social network research nationally and internationally.
Rob Ackland will be runnig a two-day masterclass on big data and data scraping- how to do it and use it- at Deakin university.
