VOSON Lab at the ACSPRI Conference

The School of Sociology and VOSON Lab researchers and PhD student presented at the 8th Biennial Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Incorporated (ACSPRI) Social Science Methodology Conference, held on 23-24 November 2022 (online). The conference provided an opportunity for multidisciplinary researchers to discuss current challenges around social science methodologies. Under the stream 'Research technology and tools', VOSON Lab presentations included:

  • 'Characterising Political Discussion Networks on Twitter', part of the international research collaboration 3B Bots Building Bridges Project presented by Rob Ackland.
  • 'An interdisciplinary approach to understanding Indigenous Australian governance networks', joint work with Rob Ackland and Diane Smith (CAEPR), presented by Francisca Borquez.
  • 'Observing the alt-right on Reddit: constructing unique units of observation and analysis from platform activity', presented by Nicholas Corbett as part of his PhD research.
