VOSON Lab granted planning grant for Volkswagen Fund

The VOSON Lab (ANU) is involved in international research collaboration, led by the University of Bielefeld (CITEC and School of Sociology), and composed by researchers from Indiana University and University College Dublin.

The team was awarded a 135K Euro Volkswagen Foundation planning grant, for the preparation for a full proposal. The project proposes to study social bots and political discourse and it is part of the  “Artificial Intelligence and the Society of the Future” stream. the main objectives of that funding stream are to foster integrative research approaches in the social sciences and the engineering sciences and to support projects dealing with the development of new perspectives and insights with a view to shaping the future of society as well as technology.

The research project involves software development, research, PhD scholarships, and international workshops over a 4-year period.
