Research seminar and masterclass at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya

Dr Rob Ackland visited the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, July 10-11 2017.

His research seminar: "VOSON Lab Overview and Research Into Politically-Oriented Conversations on Twitter" involved an overview of the VOSON Lab and two research projects using large-scale data on politically-oriented conversations on Twitter. The first is an analysis of the extent and nature of incivility in tweets addressed to Australian Federal politicians, using data collected over 2015 and 2016. The second is a study on Social Bots on Twitter and involves a dataset collected during the first televised debate of the 2016 US presidential election.

Rob also ran a two-day masterclass on VOSON and SocialMediaLab, which was organized by the Doctoral School and the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3).
