The impact of information (and misinformation) on mental health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Rob Ackland presented in the inter-disciplinary webinar ‘The impact of information (and misinformation) on mental health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 Pandemic’.

The focus of the webinar was on information consumption, ways we can manage misinformation and explore the associated links between general wellbeing and mental health, and it was organised by the ANU Research School of Psychology and the Black Dog Institute.

The discussion covered issues such as: how information travels online, how to separate facts from fiction, social media consumption and anxiety, and challenges of science communication in the context of COVID-19.

The panel was composed of experts from the disciplines of Sociology, Psychology, Medicine and Epidemiology and it took place on 14 May 2020.
